A Journey of Hope and Despair – Baby Ayat

Baby Ayat was hospitalized at MMIH on November 15, 2021, with congenital spinal and brain disorders that were successfully controlled and addressed despite multiple life-threatening difficulties with the effort of Memon Medical Institute Hospital Management and the Welfare Department of MHEF.

Despite meticulous care of her back incision, this unfortunate baby developed CSF (brain fluids) and brain ventricles infections (Ventriculitis), putting MMIH’s expert team of Neurosurgeons in jeopardy.

Ventriculitis is a fatal infection with a 50% mortality rate (meaning 50% of patients died despite treatment), with the grace of ALLAH and the untiring efforts of our enthusiastic Neurology and Pediatric doctors and nurses, she cleared all the infections.

Alhamdulillah, Baby Ayat stayed 120 days, survived from infection, and return safe and healthy to home.

Dr. Muzaffaruddin, Dr. Nighat Aijaz and their team, and all of the nursing staff put in a lot of effort and attention to treat her.
