The Department of Neurosurgery of Memon Medical Institute Hospital performed Awake Craniotomy. The procedure was performed for the first time in MMI Hospital by Neuro Surgeon Dr. Badar Uddin Ujjan & Dr. Saad Akhtar. Mr. Abdul Hameed, a patient of 22 years old came to MMI Hospital with fits on left side and loss of consciousness for Nine years. The patient was diagnosed with Intracranial Space occupying lesion/tumor on the investigation. After the investigation, it was decided by the Neuro Surgeons to performed Awake Craniotomy. The surgery was performed successfully while the patient was fully awaked, conscious, and talking. We appreciate the Department of Neurosurgery, Operation Theatre Team & Anesthesia Team for their contribution to the successful Awake Craniotomy procedure at Memon Medical Institute Hospital.
