Starting Of Paediatric & Neonatal Services

One of the Largest & State of the Art Ultra Modern Facilities in Karachi As a part of our expansion / development program, we are pleased to announce that on the 1st of July 2013 MMIH further expanded its scope of services by starting its Paediatric unit. The department of Paediatric in Memon Medical Institute Hospital (MMIH) is committed to providing State of Art Clinical services to the children. The department of Paediatrics clinical services is excellent because of its highly qualified doctors and staffs and availability of different specialists in all major pediatrics discipline. This department is run under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Billoo. Inpatient services includes Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with ventilator support and Paediatirc Ward Paediatric Ward Paediatric ward has a capacity to accommodate 15 beds. Well baby clinic and Outpatient clinic provide care to children with any type of pediatric problems. Pediatric outpatient clinics are conducting daily in the morning and noon. We have walk in service as well as appointment system. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Billo is conducting outpatient clinic on Tuesday. Walk Cum Seminar on World Health Day 2013

World Health Day 2013 was celebrated in form of Walk cum Seminar which was jointly organized by Nursing Education Services and Marketing department for all MMIH staff on 27th April 2013. This program was sponsored by Pharmevo. The purpose of the seminar was to focus on the theme of World Health Day which was Hypertension. For this purpose two presentations were organized to update the knowledge about Hypertension and Healthy Life Style. Our program was started at 0800hrs. Before we initiate the walk all the participants were having t-shirt, caps and water bottle. Our walk route was started from MMIH to Safoora Chowrangi holding with banner of World Health Day 2013. With the roundabout of Safoora Chowrangi, we returned back to MMIH. After coming from walk, participants were refreshed with a glass of juice and fruit. At that time, it was announced that they have to proceed for seminar on second floor. The seminar was initiated with the welcome speech by CEO, Dr. M. Tufail Bawa and then continued with the presentations. Seminar On World Tb Day 2013

World Tuberculosis (T.B) day observed on 29th March 2013. A seminar was jointly organized by Nursing Education Services and Marketing department. The purpose of the seminar was to enhance and update the current knowledge about T.B. Altogether 74 Medical and Paramedical staff, from different institutions attended including MMIH, the Kidney Centre, Aman Foundation, Liaquat National Hospital and Civil Hospital. Tableau Session on Mother & Child Care

On Saturday 9th February 2013, MMI hospital has conducted a Tableau session on Mother & Child Care in collaboration with Ruqiyya Hajiani School. A well organized Tableau was performed by the Students which clearly indicate the mother and child care need. Program started with the Tilawat –e-Quran followed by National Anthem, than Ms. Rima Diwan formally welcome the audience by delivering the speech. Students of Ruqayya Hajyani School presented the Talk shows & Tableaus Dr. Shahzad Alam (Medical Director MMIH) shared the updates on School Health Program The program was followed by the Sessions which was presented by Dr. Shahnaz & Dr. Salma. They covered the topic of women issues and breast cancer respectively. Lastly, Mr. Peer Mohammad Diwan (Founder Trustee) formally thanks the audience by his speech. The program was concluded with “Dua” performed by Students which deliver the message for establishment of the country.

Breast Cancer Awarness Session At Memon Federation

On Saturday 23rd February 2013, Memon Professional Forum (Ladies Wing) in collaboration with MMI Hospital conducted Breast Cancer Awareness Session at Memon Federation House, from 03:30 am to 6:00 pm. The program was attended by more than 150 females. The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran. After recitation Dr. Saira Bano, Convenor of the program, delivered a welcome speech and invited Dr. Narjis Mustafa, Consultant Oncologist SKMCH & RC conduct a informative session on Breast Cancer. This session was followed by the presentation of Dr. Salma Khan, Consultant General Surgery MMIH, which was based on Breast Surgery due to Breast Cancer. She highlighted the services of MMIH and emphasized that women should have their Mammography in every three years to rule out the possibility of cancer. Mammography is conducted at MMIH at economical price reported by professional radiologist. At the end of the session and presentation, question answer session and Pannel discussion was held where the queries of the audience were answered. The speech of Chief Guest Dr. Rufina Soomro, Consultant General and Breast Surgeon, LNH focused on the breast cancer awareness.
